A family in Nederland wanted to add an outdoor room to their house by adding a deck, hot tub, built-in grill, and a cutting garden. The mountain creek side home is a beautifully proportioned cedar shake building sitting that sits alongside North Boulder Creek. The project called for a new complimentary deck that transitioned the formal architecture of the house down to the natural creek side area below. Working with the Owners we came up with a program, spatial layout, and a pricing set for a deck addition. Working within Boulder County’s Land Use Code and Site Plan Review Guidelines, we also studied options to reconfigure the house floor plan and add a bedroom addition. This project is currently being bid for construction and will hopefully be built in the near future.
